Compound Z Wireless Sleep Earbuds – Specifications, and Average

Compound Z Wireless

If been using the more compound z wireless sleep earbuds for almost six months to give a proper, long-term review. Sleep is essential to me, I track my sleep pretty religiously, not with the Apple Watch, of course, and I’m an incredibly light sleeper. I think someone opened the front door, and I woke up light. But these changed everything for me.

So let’s talk design first. These are incredibly small, from the case, which only weighs 34 grams, to the earbuds, which are just 2.7 grams. They sit super flush to the ear or even less than flush, which is the one big thing you should look for in a pair of sleep earbuds. Nothing’s worse than wakeful up in the middle of the night because your earbuds are causing your ears to hurt, especially if you’re a side sleeper like me.

The case is super simple, you get a USB-C charging port on the rear, but there’s no wireless charging, unfortunately. And also, So instead, there’s this whiteish, almost like an egg-shell look to the case and earbuds. And also, In which is pretty interesting, and it’s all matte plastic, so no worries about silicon wings on the earbuds causing squeaks when you’re sleeping.

Not Your Average Earphone of Compound Z Wireless

You need to know around the 1MORE Compound’s Z that these earbuds aren’t made to be worn throughout the day.  They are so clearly not complete to be worn during the day that it doesn’t make much sense to buy them for that purpose. You can, of sequence, but if you’re looking for an all-day earbud, there are better options out there, even amongst 1MORE’s line-up (in fact, the 1MORE Color buds 2 are $5 cheaper right now if that’s pardon you’re looking for).

Instead, these earbuds are made to be slumbered in, and their whole design revolves around that. They’re tiny but don’t sit flush with your ear. No, they sit inside your ear, well, the outer ear. The reason is simple: even a sprout that sits even with your ear can be painful for side sleepers. With your head pressing the pillow, that pillow pushes the bud into your ear. Not so with the Compound’s Z., They’re made to disappear into your ear and do it well.

Performance of Compound Z Wireless

Performance of Compound Z Wireless

Why would anyone need earbuds for sleeping? I admit to being mystified the first time I heard of sleep earbuds. I was naïve and ignored my use case for a device like this. And also, If you live in a dormitory room or a bed-sitter complex or even have a partner who likes to stay up later than you, being able to block out noise can be a necessity for some sleepers. And also, I often fall asleep viewing a show on my phone with an earbud in one ear not to wake up my wife. For the last few years, I’ve regularly woken up in the middle of the night to take an earbud out, pull it out from below my back after it had fallen out, or have had to search the blankets for it in the morning.

If you need quiet, 1MORE claims these buds block up to 24dB of ambient noise. And also, It’s important to note that this is done passively, as there is no active noise cancelling on these earbuds. And also, I didn’t find the noise isolation great on the Compounds due to the tiny ear tips. All of them run minor (the largest is earlier to a medium than the other buds I own). And also, I found a snug fit on my left ear, but my right ear never felt blocked entirely in the same way. This will vary based on your anatomy, but I found it positive to make sure I could hear my alarm in the morning.

Conclusion

You don’t consume a pair of slumber earbuds to be a tech addict to poverty. And also, If You can have a noisy environment. And also, It is might desire the soothing sounds of rain, waves, or wind running through the arenas to lull you to sleep. Or, like me, you might find that those value minutes before bed are the few you get to catch up with your favourite show or content creator. No substance, your reason. And also, if you need sound before you slumber and want a bud that will deliver it without interrupting your rest, the 1MORE Compound’s Z is it.
